The Grand Mufti of India, Sheikh Abu Bakr Ahmad, paid an official visit to Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, as part of the blessed da’wah journey led by Habib Umar bin Hafiz bin Salim.
During his visit, the Mufti delivered several scholarly and da’wah lectures at gatherings of scholars, intellectual meetings, and reception ceremonies organized by various Islamic institutions across the country.
His Eminence also took part in the Mawlid al-Nabi gathering titled “Majlis al-Rasul: Mawlid and Supplication”, organized by the Sadat al-Yamaniyah Association in Indonesia, where he delivered a heartfelt address highlighting the importance of prophetic love and the unity of the Muslim Ummah.
The visit also witnessed the inauguration of the new office of the Council of Communications in the city of Bandung, attended by a large official and public audience of more than half a million participants from different countries — a clear reflection of the deep religious and scholarly ties linking scholars and Islamic institutions around the world.
This visit comes within the framework of strengthening da’wah and academic cooperation between India and Indonesia, and reaffirms the vital role of scholars in promoting moderation, tolerance, and the bonds of Islamic brotherhood.
